RESALIENCE

Nina Jirouskova joined the Transport Systems Laboratory in 2017 to undertake doctoral research under the supervision of Dr Panagiotis Angeloudis and Dr Arnab Majumdar. In addition to TSL she has been affiliated with the LRF Transport Risk Management Centre and the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Sustainable Civil Engineering at Imperial College London.

Her research focuses on natural disaster resilience management strategies for container terminals, representing them as complex systems of systems (infrastructure, structures, equipments, utilities, labour and management). In partnership with a major container terminal operator, she is developing a top-down operational framework that integrates natural disaster impact analysis with preparedness and response planning for high-risk systems.

Her work builds on her experience as Seismic Engineer with ARUP (Hong Kong, London). In 2016, she was part of the EEFIT post-earthquake field investigation team on the aftermath of the Mw 7.8 earthquake in Ecuador (April ‘16).
